Classic Eggnog

Ingredients
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbs. + 1 tsp. sugar
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 egg white
  • Bourbon
  • Glass type: Mug
Instructions
  1. Whisk the egg yolk until it's pale, then add 1 tbs. of the sugar and whisk it all together.
  2. Using baking sugar (the ultra fine stuff) will help the sugar dissolve.
  3. Next, add the milk and cream to your yolk and sugar mixture.
  4. Whisk together.
  5. Grate on some nutmeg.
  6. In a seperate bowl, whisk the egg white and remaining 1 tsp. of sugar together until you get what they like to call "stiff peaks."
  7. Finally, whisk the egg whites into drink.
  8. Then pour into your mugs or drink vessel of choice.
  9. Grate a little extra nutmeg on top and serve.
  10. Oh, add a splash of bourbon or three in there if that's your thing (it's mine).
  11. Now get out there and get festive!
