Blue Hawaiian Shark Attack
Shark Week! Yeah, I love it. I’ve loved it every summer for as far back as I can remember (it’s been going on for over 25 years now) and decided it was time to celebrate with a drink. Shark Week doesn’t deserve any drink, it needs the perfect one: classic, fun, slightly dramatic. Allow me to introduce you to: the Blue Hawaiian Shark Attack.
Let me bring you into my thinking about this one. I figured it needed to be classic — in TV terms, Shark Week is a classic (don’t judge me). Knowing that, I wanted to go with a Tiki drink. Added benefit there is sharks like to hang out around topical islands. Bingo bango, the Blue Hawaiian!
For the final effect, I knew we needed to add some drama. Seriously, if you’ve never seen a breaching great white, look one up somewhere. That’s drama. Hence, hello there Crème de Cassis. A little drizzle on top of the Blue Hawaiian and we have ourselves a nice shark attack.
Small note, the sweet and sour, make it yourself. Take one part lemon juice, one part lime juice and one part sugar. Mix together (heat to melt the sugar). Cool. Use as necessary.
Give it a try. Promise, you’ll love it.
