Brandy Alexander
Here’s the thing: I love chocolate milkshakes. Near as I can figure, sometimes there’s just nothing finer you can have. When it comes to something with a little kick though, I’m just never one who’s been impressed about booze in my shake. It’s not that I’m not willing to try, it’s that the execution always leaves a little something missing. However, a drink that hints of a shake. Oh yes, that’s very nice indeed. Around these parts, we call just such a drink the Brandy Alexander.
Admittedly, I’m always looking for more uses for crème de cacao (I wouldn’t say chocolate is my crutch, it sets me free). I know, I know, chocolate is amazing. I’m glad you can agree with me. Since we can all accept that simple fact, let’s move onto the drink.
With the Brandy Alexander, what you have is another exercise in simplicity. Brandy (cognac if you’re fancy — and let’s be honest, you’re fancy). Cream. Crème de cacao.
Boom.
One to one to one.
Easy, no?
Once you’ve shaken this lovely little drink, what you’re going to get is a pleasant chocolate milkshake-esque drink that has booze in it.
Your inner child will thank you. Mine certainly did.
